Entrepreneur and activist Olcay Gulsen presented the Freedom from Fear Award to Gisèle Pelicot, international figurehead for victims of sexual violence.
Olcay Gulsen was chosen because of her many years of commitment to ending violence against women and girls worldwide. By sharing her personal story, including in the docuseries “Olcay & Domestic Violence,” she makes domestic violence a topic of discussion. In addition, she has been fighting against femicide for years and has been the national ambassador for the “Orange the World” campaign since 2020. Olcay has been emphasizing for years that violence against women is not a private problem, but an urgent social issue that requires robust legislation and regulations.
