Lucille Werner presented the Freedom from Want Award to Isidora Uribe Silva, who is committed to creating an inclusive society. Lucille Werner has spent her entire career fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. Among other things, Lucille organised a tour of disabled musicians, a singing competition for young people with disabilities, a beauty pageant, and wrote the book “Het leven loopt op rolletjes”. In addition, she set up a foundation and website with the aim of promoting a more positive image of people with disabilities and creating a more accessible labour market. People with disabilities sometimes have to overcome many obstacles and show great perseverance in order to live the life they want. Unfortunately, there is still a great deal of ignorance and uncertainty about the possibilities for making our society more accessible. Lucille Werner is a true advocate of inclusion.
